Day 4
Match 2, Pool  A  Malaysia vs Singapore.

Malaysia tonight, 4th September, scored a comfortable win 5-0 over South East Asian rivals Singpaore in a pool A fixture at Kings Park.

With Malaysia netting two field goals inside the first ten minutes of the game through Kannagi Arumugam and Sylvester Silin , the result was never in any doubt.

Malaysia scored the third goal shortly before the interval and then cruised home in the second half with the fifth goal coming right on the final whistle when Norfarahah Hashim converted a penalty corner to wrap up the match.

Malaysia cannot match the top four teams in the tournament China, Korea, Japan and India and now look to be on target to finish midway overall provided they win their thursday fixture against Thailand in pool A  that in all likelihood will give them a final 5th place in the tournament.

Result: Malaysia 5 (goal scorers: Kannagi Arumugam, Sylvester Fazilla Silin,Nadia Abdul Rahman,Ramah Othman,Norfarahah Hashim) :  Singapore 0
