The final match of the first day’s competition of the 6th Asia Cup Women’s Hockey Championships saw Singapore edge out arch-rivals Thailand by 2 goals to 2 in a pool A fixture.
Singapore opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Chua Xinni converted a penalty corner with Thailand equalising on the stroke of half-time through a Sukyana Ritngam field goal.
With both teams well matched Thailand slotted home the winner in the 43rd minute with a Kannika Lewrungrot field goal.
